yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... today we had a tiny meetup with three tab-postcrossers!!!

and with some guests for sure!!!!

although it was great!!!!
in the meantime it was misslondon's b-day, and we congratulated her and gave her our gift :-))))) after we had a look at sooooo many cards, as we hadn't seen each other quite a long time!!!!

misslondon was so kind to prepare us a great makaroni salad, lili_6789 brought a very delicious chocolate as a dessert, and me, I add islamic beer without alcohol.. :-) and as the weather was great, a beautiful spring day, misslondon proposed to enter the terrace and so we did!! we enjoyed it so much!! we never stopped to chat and it was so funny for us. even we wrote some cards and for sure took some pics!!!

as we have a saying in farsi *your place was empty*, when we are missing somebody, and so we remembered oldieoma's empty place!!!!! :-))))))))) and she will be with us hopefully very soon and have a *pfiff* with us!!!!! *LOL*

as I started with pottery when I lived still in germany in 1974, I hesitated a lot to know any potter in tabriz after moving, and the foreigners in tab introduced me to the ghabtshi brothers and their pottery workshop in sorkhab, one of the ancient quaerters of tabriz.

first we had to cross the area of a lumber dealer by this entrance and then reached the small door of the pottery workshop! even when we were going there on fridays we had to enter there by the tiny extra door.... here the original entrance up from the beginning untill a few years ago!!


during about two years I got a bit busy but not that much. finally in 1998 a cousin of my husband introduced to me mrs. f. tathiri-moghaddam, a miniature painter from tehran, who started recently to teach painting on clay by iranian cultural heritage in tabriz and had a cooperation with the ghabtshi brothers.

it was great to be with them all the time.
born from zonouz in north of tabriz on the way to jolfa, where kaolin is found. they learned this handicraft from their father, started in an age of 1o.. later when still married they both moved to tabriz and founded this workshop which is still on the same place!

recently mr. ahmad ghabtshi passed away in jan. 2oo6 and mr. abbas ghabtshi unfortunately died also in jan. 2o1o - we are very thankfull and we'll keep them both in our mind forever. thanks them both the special turquoise pottery, famous from province azerbaijan, didn't got forgotten!!!!

the son of mr. abbas ghabtshi helped during the last years in preparing the clay and nowadays he keeps this pottery workshop alive!!!

women like to go to bazar, to the shopping malls, shopping centers and so on - all over the world....... and ppl here even when they are going to the shopping malls but not to the ancient bazar, they are speaking of *going to bazar*!! and today we women went to bazar ;-))))








perhaps do you remember the pics of ancient bazar of tabriz, even at the tentative list of UNESCO, PAUL the backpacker had been about one month ago!!?!?
