ipuenktchen, 22:39h
hey everybody - in the morning me, POSSY, heard the alarm clock ringing and was so surprised!! boah.. why?!?!? and after breakfast I understood we'll have a day out and got sooo happy!! lucky me to go with them.. ;-)

first ipue went to the tourist information, which is VERY BUSY during new year holidays!!! she met her questions, got some info, and then we were riding to NW of tabriz!! we passed hokmavar, the herbs fields of tabriz, from where we get our sabzi!!!!!!!!!!

on the way we saw some good advices like this one:
(wie auf deutsch *seid nett zu einander*!!! :-))))

after some 2o kms outside from tabriz we left the transit road and went into the mountains! boah, what a beautiful view everywhere!!!!! the hills up and down, and up and down...

ipue told me she's a girl from northern DE and hadn't any habitude to mountains higher than her home hills a bit more, a bit less than one hundred meters!!!!!!!?!?! *LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL* and at first after moving to IR she felt so bad about all these mountains all around her..!!!!?!

the day was such a beautiful spring day, perfect to have a day out!! and the mountains were so special!! again this *powdered* type in different colours!!! like indian spices in the special glasses ;-))) and it seemed to us as we're going to see the end of the world..

finally after about perhaps 1 h and many ppl we were asking and so many ups & downs we arrived at the mentioned village... ipue has forgotten now the name.....

the villages in this area were really lively and so busy the people! and finally we found the ancient armenian church we had been looking for!!!! it was so impressing - but pls have yourself a look:

in this area are also some trout breeding places, and on our way back we even saw the sadde avand - the avand dam from far!!

tomorrow I'll give you an impression from the village itself and will show your more pics - and ask the name of the village again.......... :-))) Good Night everybody!

Part 3 - CROSSY's Norouz-Trip with MISSLONDON
ipuenktchen, 06:11h
Hello!
It's a lovely sunny day in Ilam and we're going to have breakfast! In fact we can't enjoy our journey without it!
Ilam is the capital of Ilam province and just like all western provinces here borders Iraq, too. The city was damaged a lot during the eight years war with Iraq. Poor people lived in tents outside the city due to daily bombing.
Most of Ilam's attractions are natural, located out of the city. We had a visit to the city centre and were going to Vali Castle or Vali House. Vali was the name of an affluent family in Ilam, they had lots of lands. They lived in Qajar era. Later they immigrated to Iraq. There were beautiful rooms and wax sculptures exhibiting traditional clothes of the region. Nomads, their lifestyle, their marriage celebrating, cookings, tents, huntings, and the Vali's life in thelast room.

We are about to leave Ilam to Susa today!!!
Tomorrow we shall see some magnificent places!!!
Can't wait to tell you about them!

Part 2 - CROSSY's Norouz-Trip with MISSLONDON

Hi every one!
On 18th of March after having a great breakfast we left Sanandaj to Ilam. Weather was lovely and a bit breezy. After 3 hours arrived in Kermanshah. The Capital City of Kermanshah province about 120 km from the border of Iraq.
As we arrived went straight to city's most famous place, Taq-e-Bostan where we could see a series of large rock reliefs from the era of Sassanid Empire of ancient Persia, the Iranian dynasty which ruled western Asia from 226 to 650 AD.
First a mini lake with some boats
and then a 600 year old tree, then the main rock.

The second and third rock were splendid also!

After lunch we bought some cookies called Nan Berenji which is made only in Kermanshah and then to the first Unesco World Heritage site of my journey, BISOTUN about 23 KM from city. Bisotun means "God's Place".
The inscription insists of three versions of the same text, written in three different cuneiform scripts: Old Persian, Elamite and Babylonian. The inscription is about 15 meters high by 25 meters wide.

Before visiting the main inscription everyone is welcomed by a monument of Bahram as Hercules carved in 153 B.C - which Yasi told me, that it's the fake one! The real one is stolen!!! :-0

Well! My next story will be about Ilam.
