Part 4 - CROSSY's Norouz-Trip with MISSLONDON
Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm on the way to a very amazing place... Somewhere special and unique, full of energy. YES! I'm on the way to Chogha Zanbil Ziggurat!

It is one of the few existent ziggurats outside of Mesopotamia. MissLondon is very interested in ancient Mesopotamia, we were both raring to visit the place! Chogha Zanbil means 'basket mound'. It was built about 1250 BC by the king Untash Napirisha, was dedicated to the great god Inshushinak. Its original name was Dur Untash, which means 'town of Untash', but it is unlikely that many people, besides priests and servants, ever lived there. The complex is protected by three concentric walls which define the main areas of the 'town'. The inner area is wholly taken up with a great ziggurat dedicated to the main god.

The ziggurat is considered to be the best preserved example in the world. In 1979, Chogha Zanbil became the first Iranian site to be inscribed on the Unesco WHS List.

Before getting to the ziggurat, historical sites

WOW! So splendId!!!

These small structures located in southern stairway of the ziggurat, are related to a festival named "Sit Shamsi" which took place during sunrise.

Bricks with Elamite cuneiform. So far 5000 cuneiformed bricks have been discovered. Aren't they impressive???

Two footprints!!! One belongs to human the other one to a lion!

After Chogha Zanbil en route for Susa in order to see Susa's museum and Darius's palace. After 30 minutes we are in Susa's museum. Here is not a big place but full of superb things!

Then to Darius's palace which is beside Shush's castle

The original tiles of Darius's palace!!!

Weather is 38 degrees and we are going by car to Ahwaz.
A view of Susa and a map of KHUZESTAN.

PLS STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT REPORT from MISSLONDON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
