twice we made together with my sis and her hubby a one-day-trip by train for a walking tour to the harz-mountains!!!! love it and long time didn't seen!!! the 2nd time even together with son1 and our dear granddaughter!!!!!

The absolute highlight from my this-year-holidays thx to my friends had been my unforgettable 70th BIRTHDAY!!!!!

We met at hannover mainrailwaystation at 9 AM to share a freixenet.. then entering the train to uelzen hundertwasser railwaystation forward to HAMBURG!!!



We had been me and my hubby, my sis and two eldest friends from my childhood and the daughter and grandson of one of them!!

In hamburg four postcrossers were waiting for us at the station platform - mondkind74, trenker, friesendeern and christa!!!

We went together by underground to landungsbruecken station.. and the gift for awfull long long stairs up in the direction of the ancient youth hostel was the gorgeous view over the harbour and a fantastic coffeetime arranged by dear kroete68 - postcrosser, what else??!? - waiting for us there.. with a homemade cheesecake!!!! Coffee, tea, candles.. even a happy.birthday.balloon.. I really can say, lucky me, I have the best friends in the world!!!!! And of course - postcrossers are best!!!!!!!!



As it was my wish to see the newly opened elbphilharmonie after our coffeetime we went by ferry to admire this great building and new sign of our beloved hamburg!!!









Again back by ferry we went now to the portuguese quarter... best price for postcards as a postcrosser knows!!!! thx sis found a nice restaurant where we had lunch and finally our meeting to sign the postcards!!!!!

At last they brought us to the mainrailwaystation and as I was more than tired... and had the only wish to sit at the station platform untill our train wil arrive.. no matter how long time.... we did so!!! The younger folks made a flight to chile house and finally at 7 PM we found each other in the train to go back to hannover. What an unforgettable day!!!!

We left Finland after 10 days from HKI airport for HAMBURG airport.. found nobody to pick us up.. it's always so strange to arrive in germany.. but with the help from other passengers we reached to get a ticket for the train via hamburg mainstation and via uelzen as usual to HANNOVER!!! Again a strange moment... but got successfull.... as my ancient classmate wellcomed us with a big smile and then we spent our first night in my originally hometown - yeeeaaaahhh....!!!!!!

The reason I got pushed again for finland was of course the great finnish postcrossing community who announced a large meetup!! Finally joined 100 ppl from 14 countries at the opportunity of the FINLANDIA stamp exhibition 2017!!!

So I had two main reasons to make my hubby agreed for finland... the other reason was to meet again my 'best friend' anu from olden times in hamburg who is living in TAMPERE.. before we'll get too old and no more able to do this....

As we stood 6 days in TRE there was time enough for all of them!!!! And we had great moments with our old friends as well as with our postcrossing buddies!!!! And also to see and learn more about FI...
of course I had my traveltoys with me!!!!!!!!!

since years my hubby wouldn't accept to come to FI as he knews this as a country with a very low temperature, even in summer... hahaha... who told him this?????? he never believed me, although I had been there twice!!!!! omg...

and so when we finally started our holiday trip 2017 and leaved the plane in HEL airport, he really got thrilled when he understood there is a very good weather, better than in IR and better than in DE at that time!!!!!!!!!!!! hohohooooooo!!!!!!!



Thx god my dear friend kilona from PC picked us up from the HKI airport (HEL) and it was a fantastic help for us to reach easily our hotel in katajanokka!!!

We stood there for three days - it was my third time in this beautiful country and so I could give my hubby a good impression of this great city!!! it was so great for me to show him finally many of the beauties of this fantastic country in my third stay there!!!!!!!!!!!!

the helsinki central station, inaugurated in 1919, first designed in finnish national romanticism, then changed into classicism and art deco, with this great statues made by emil wikstroem - we visited his atelier not far from tampere, I think in valkeakoski.. love him!!!!


HOLIDAYS 2017 - from FI to DE...........

It was only my fault and nothing else...
Got extremly busy to prepare our holidays end of may... to finland and germany.. more than 2 months.. during the holidays less connection to the world wide web.. back home found son2 and his family with us for a longer stay because of a reconstruction of their home!!! The goal??!? Yessss, they ned a second room for the kids.. and furtherhin they planned another surprise.. will tell you later.. pls be patient!!!!!

So they packed their whole household and brought lots of this to ferdows to stay in our souterrain!!! And so nothing is here like before... hehe... the house is large enough and with so many opportunities inside and outside and we love it to be with them...!!!!!!

But reading this you may imagine that our life is not the same like before.. calm and quiet... hehehe.... only recently when the kiddies left for ardabil to see the other grandparents and waiting for the cousin-to-be... I got able to think for our own life and things to do... although up from the first day we missed them all counting the days untill they will be back again!!!!!!!!!

So I've time to show you some impressions from our great holidays...

We went via istanbul directly to HELSINKI.. finally finland for my husband!!!!! He never accept before because of its temperatures mostly less than zero.. hahaha.... who told him this????? Thx god when we left the plane a gorgeous blue sky with fully sunshine and a nice temperature!!!!!!!! He got really thrilled!!!!! And as I expected he got immediately friend with this great country & great ppl. Specially in the beautiful capital beside the sea!!!!!!
